Incline

Incline turns a recording into a granular landscape you can play. Analyze and slice a sound, then explore its segments on a contour map. Thanks to the analysis stage, you will find related textures in the corpus clustered locally, jump between them, or let the Contour Sequencer trace a path in time.

Play it three ways. One Shot fires precise slices and ratchets. One Loop keeps a changing passage in motion. Cloud scatters grains into shifting textures. The Contour Sequencer drives all three. Its a standalone but has full MIDI coverage, including the position of the pin in the 2D sound map.

Take the results further. Export cue-marked WAVs in your chosen order, or build a Bitwig multisample. Related timbres spread across the keyboard; softer and louder segments become Select or Velocity layers. Loop the samples or bake Incline’s current window into them.
